Assalam Alaikum,

Islamic Society of Greater Salt Lake follows the traditional practice of verifying crescent sighting in North America. This is rooted in the hadith of Prophet ﷺ‬ in authentic hadith “If you see the halal start the fast and if you see it break”.

Since there were credible reports of moonsighting in Goodyear AZ, and San Diego CA, the first day of Ramadhan will be tomorrow, Friday, 04-24-2020 inshaaAllah.

Ramadan Kareem.

Please be aware that due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the Masajid will not be hosting five daily prayers, taraweeh or iftars.  Also, take advantage of the daily virtual spiritual programs by Imams of ISGSL.

Kindly distribute your zakat-ul-mal and zakat-ul-fitr to the needy amongst your families and/or communities.

May Allah SWT grant everyone health and safety around the world.
