Community Safety Update

We would like to send an update regarding the shooting incident that targeted Imam Shuaib on February 23rd. A suspect has been arrested after walking into the Sandy Police Department on Friday regarding a warrant left at his car dealership.

We are profoundly grateful to Allah SWT that Imam Shuaib was not harmed, and we ask that everyone continue to make duaa for him and his family. Based on the information released, this does not appear to be a hate crime.

According to the news report below, the individual arrested has been struggling with schizoaffective disorder and had been off his medications, with increasingly erratic behavior in the days leading up to this incident.

We are deeply grateful for our community's strength and unity. We ask Allah SWT for peace both at home and abroad. Ameen.
