Honoring the San Diego Shuhada & Community Security Update

By now, many of you have heard about the tragic attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego. Three of our brothers were killed: Br. Amin Abdullah, Br. Mansour Kaziha, and Br. Nadir Awad. Br. Amin, the center's security guard, engaged the attackers outside the mosque, exchanging gunfire with them and preventing them from reaching the classrooms where children were gathered. His courage, alongside the sacrifice of Br. Mansour and Br. Nadir, undoubtedly saved many lives.

إنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Surely we belong to Allah and to Him we will return.

Please keep all three brothers, their families, and the San Diego community in your du'as. To support the families with funeral expenses and ongoing needs, you can contribute here:

Our Security Measures Going Forward

The safety of our community, especially our children and elders, is our absolute priority. ISGSL is taking immediate steps to strengthen security at both Khadeeja Islamic Center and Masjid Al-Noor:

* Police Presence: We will continue coordinating a visible police presence during Jumu'ah and large community gatherings.

* Active Shooter and CPR Training: Mandatory training sessions will be conducted for all staff and volunteers.

* Enhanced Measures: Additional physical security upgrades are being finalized, and details will be shared soon.

To our brothers and sisters in San Diego: we stand with you in grief and solidarity. The Ummah is one body. We will answer this tragedy with stronger Iman, unity, and an even greater presence in our masajid.

May Allah (SWT) accept the deceased as Shuhada, grant them the highest ranks of Jannah, and grant their families beautiful patience (Sabr).
